LETTER OF APPRECIATION.
The Chairman of the IWCWW 2023 electoral committee Comrade. Mrs. Eugenia Opamini Obongha. The Secretary Comrade. Mrs Elizabeth Kings, and all members of the Eleco. I wish to most profoundly appreciate the chairman for a well coordinated and perfectly conducted elections. VP Emeritus, I’d always known your passion for service and excellence. You’ve delivered ones again. Aluaa o!.
This is the first ever national elections conducted in the history of IWCWW since inception and you have set a high standard as precedent to follow. Thank you for leading the eleco faithfully, and I am proud to say that the Ijaw Women are a resource to tap from. Thank you madam Secretary Eleco, Elizabeth Kings, i always knew you belong to the tech hub, and a professional HR personnel, but i didn’t know you were a computer engineer also. God bless you for being so unique ma.
Comrade Vero Abarowei and Comrade Emomotimi
Marian Mogboruko. Your services will not go unnoticed as the Ijaw land you served is very rewarding of hard work. God bless you all my big sister’s. This election indeed was a test of our commitment and dedication to service and I am glad that even when no one believes with which we were serious about conducting elections, we did and went above board to display that we are Women with pedigrees.
May I congratulate all the beautiful Amazon’s who
presented themselves to contest for one elective
position or the other, your resolved to take up the bull by it’s horn is a clear demonstration of courage and strength. We have seen your strength and I know the Ijaw Nation doesn’t forget history. Weldon my comrades. Most of us didn’t see how far this election will take us to, hence we joked with it and never took it serious. Instructions violated, distrust, wrong insinuations, unfounded lies etc. It is a pity that women don’t know how to place a price tag on themselves and the institutions they have passionately served. But today we came out stronger and better. The experiences of this election should only serve as a lesson that the things we take so common are actually the stones we need to enable us climb to the mountain
top.
Congratulations Dr. Vivian Elenwo. IWCWW Presidentelect. Indeed there is dignity in labour and the pains we undergo in every stage of life are the gains we prepared ahead for the future. We all know the adage that says no pain, no gains. Dr. Vivian weldon for being altruistic to the principles of the struggle.
Dr. Vivian, truly is the face of IWC Eastern zone, she stood for congress and her activities even when all left with the end of the Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s government. Many thought IWC was a political platform for cash-out. Unfortunately, IWC is a movement, a pan Ijaw Women socio-cultural, non partisan organisation deeply involved in the emancipation of the Ijaw Struggle. For those who lack the knowledge of the Ijaw Nation may not understand that there is a struggle. The Ijaw self determination struggle for 100% resource ownership and control was as a result of the oppression, degradation of our environment, the pollution of our rivers, swamps, mangroves and creeks that birthed the regional struggle to resist further oppression and decisions to defend her own territory. And the Ijaws has championed this cause from the days of Boro which led to the 12 Days Revolution declaration of the Niger Delta Republic by Our HERO LATE MAJOR ISAAC JASPER ADAKA BORO of blessed memory in February 23rd, 1966.
The passion in salvaging the Ijaw Nation and her land is a collective responsibility for us in IWC, those of us who stayed and sacrificed to get to this place in the History of the Ijaw Nation is what has taking IWC this far and has made a voice for herself and the beautiful daughters of the Ijaw land.
Today I am proud and glad to see more disciplined
women, more culturally inclined Ijaw Women, bold and representing the women folks in all areas and sectors of life.
Our mission statement and vision is clear. Always visit our social media handles and website to be abreast with the activities of Congress. IWC is committed to projecting Ijaw Women to be included in policy making, fight for her socio-political freedom, capacity building and development and the socio-economy well-being of the Ijaw woman. If you don’t participate and commit to it posterity will be fear to some Let me conclude by congratulating all the elected incoming NEC come November, 2023. Remember that leadership is a responsibility.
i commend and appreciate Chief. Fyne Ibifaka Uzoukwu for being a respectful and dogged comrade. I never believed she could go this far in her campaigns. More importantly, her motherly tributes, and very understanding to the elders and leaders of thought in Ijaw land. In the coming weeks, I will commence my end of tenure tour to all zones and chapters, this will enable me strengthen congress faithfully for the incoming NEC. I request that all chairmen of organs should as a matter
of urgency prepare their respective zones and chapters for this all important tour of duty.
Thank you Ijaw Women, it’s a beautiful thing we all stood to achieve this today. It’s a brand new congress we have.
Thank you all and may God bless us.
Long Live IWC-Worldwide.
Long Live The Ijaw Nation.
Yours in Struggle.
Mrs. Rosemary John-Oduone.
President. IWC-Worldwide.
